remembrance day_Remembrance Day is on Saturday, 11th November. On this day, we pay respect and pause for one minute to remember the service and sacrifice of our veterans and current serving personnel.

Originally known as Armistice Day, Remembrance Day marks the signing of the peace agreement between Germany and the Allies that ended the Great War of 1914-1918.

The Second World War began just 21 years later. Almost one million Australians served during that conflict, which lasted close to six years. Armistice Day was then renamed Remembrance Day.

Remembrance Day is now a day to remember and honour all Australians who have served.

The Official 2023 NSW Remembrance Day service will take place at the Cenotaph in Martin Place, Sydney, at 10:30am on Saturday 11th November. The event is open to the public and everyone is encouraged to attend the service to pay their respects to the fallen.

Local Remembrance Day services will also be held at Glenorie and Galston.
