Remembrance Day – Lest We Forget

Today, Friday 11 November 2022, Mayor Philip Ruddock AO joined dignitaries, schools and community groups to lay a wreath at a Commemorative Service to pay tribute and remember with eternal gratitude those who served and gave the ultimate sacrifice to protect our great nation.

The service, hosted by the Returned Services League of Australia New South Wales Hornsby sub-branch, began with a commemoration address by Ku-Ring-Gai Councillor Barbara Ward and The Ode, led by RSL Hornsby President Mr George Main, before The Last Post and one minute of silence was observed.

A crowd of Hornsby Shire residents, service men and women and their families were led in prayer by Parade Chaplain Reverend Ralph Estherby CSM before a concluding commemorative poem, the National Anthem and Catafalque Party Dismounts.
