Former Marion Catholic College Kenthurst student Brendan Xavier has landed the lead role of Beast in Walt Disney’s iconic Beauty and the Beast at Sydney’s Capitol Theatre in June 2023.
Brendan, a Box Hill resident, will join Shubshri Kandiah playing Belle in the theatre production from the makers of Frozen, Aladdin, The Lion King and Mary Poppins.
The talented newcomer has just finished performing in Frozen the Musical, in his first professional musical theatre role.
Director and choreographer Matt West said the two young performers will bring fresh life to the iconic roles.
“The excitement we felt in the audition room when Brendan and Shubshri performed for us was electric. We are thrilled that a whole new generation of Australian audiences will have the pleasure of witnessing their interpretation in this new production,” he said.
