Long time member of the Soroptimist International of the Hills, Jenny McGlashan has taken over the reins as President. Jenny takes over from Cathy Tracey and it will be her second time in the role.
Soroptimist International of The Hills is a part of a global movement started over 100 years ago that advocates to improve the lives of women and girls through education, gender equality and environmental issues. Soroptimist International has a seat at the United Nations.
The changeover happened at last month’s Planning Day for 2025. The club had a busy year in 2024 and ended the year with a project dear to their heart.
As long time supporters of Hills Community Aid, especially their endeavours to assist local women who have experienced domestic violence, members of The Hills SI club contributed items for gift bags to give women and their children as a Christmas surprise at the annual Christmas lunch.
The bags were delivered along with some homemade treats for their morning tea. SI has been active in The Hills for over 40 years. Club meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month at Crestwood Community Centre in Baulkham Hills.
New members are always welcome. Interested community members can contact the club at [email protected] and check the website at www.seap.org
