Galston Concerts 2021 Sold Out Full House

The Galston Concerts 2021 are ‘off and running’ again after a sellout crowd at their concert late May. ‘Get in quickly’ with early bookings seems good advice for the next concert on Sunday 25 July, to start 2 pm in Galston Uniting Church.

Three’s Company will delight with a Classical to Cabaret program of contrast sounds and styles.

The trio – Soprano Narelle Yeo, clarinetist Deborah de Graaff and pianist Tonya Lemoh – their international careers on hold due to travel restrictions, will enjoy their Galston return to live concerts in Australia.

They balance their teaching links to Sydney University and Abbotsleigh School with local connections – they “still call Australia home” as in Berowra and Normanhurst.

Their program will guarantee an enjoyable variety: music secular and sacred by Mozart, Schubert’s famous Shepherd on the Rock, Polish folk dances, cabaret songs and the evocative Milonga del Angel by Argentinian tango supremo Astor Piazzolla.

The afternoon will also maintain a tradition of a prelude concert starting c. 1.30 pm featuring prize-winning young organists performing the Galston Uniting Forster & Andrews pipe organ –a musical welcome as the audience take their seats.

Current guidelines of the ‘square metre’ rule and social distancing may further relax by 25 July. However, the present ‘house full’ audience capacity suggests that advanced bookings are well advised on-line at trybooking.com (search Galston).

Performances later in the year – Sydney Symphony Principal Harp alumna Louise Johnson 26 September; the Galston Gala 21 November – are also available through trybooking.com as single concerts.

Phone the church office on 9653 2039 with general enquiries and to join the audience database which receives monthly e-bulletin newsletters confirming future concerts, plus links to video performances and news of other Hills and Hornsby district concerts.
