Pumas Gear Up for 2023

Gear up for another action packed soccer season! Hills Pumas FC have a new committee and are ready to welcome our new and existing players back on the field for a fantastic 2023 season!

A few words from the new president Youssif Maximos; “Hi, I’m Youssif, new Club President of the Hills Pumas FC. I’m excited to start this journey with the club and where our newly formed Committee can take it. Sport has been one of my main passions all my life. I’ve coached youth football for several years, both at grassroots and elite level, with special note to holding a coaching role with the Pumas U15s back in 2015! Apart from working on the technical side of the game including performance analysis (Sydney FC and Granada CF), I ventured into sports administration in the NSW Men’s National Premier League where now I am looking forward to building something great with the Pumas at grassroots level. The main areas that the club are poised to deliver are our ability to help holistically develop young footballers, create a fun learning environment and to connect with the community. We have aims to offer the best grassroots development program in the area through leaning on professionals within our wide network of experts. The future is bright here at the Pumas! Youssif.“

Registrations for 2023 are now open on our website until 24th March. www.hillspumasfc.com.au Hills Pumas FC was formed in 1999 as a result of year 9 students from a local school who wanted to play soccer together. Due to an over-whelming response of interest from the broader community, the club expanded quickly. Teachers and parents formalised a committee to establish the Hills Pumas FC. The club grew to become successful including entering a Premier League team in the competition, which led to find their permanent full sized home ground at Les Shore Oval. Over the years, the move has fostered the growth of a wider community of players and families from all over the district and has now been well established for some time as THE local club for Glenorie and surrounding suburbs.

Recently, the newly formed committee had the opportunity to partner with the organisers of the 2022 Glenorie Community Christmas Carols event, to raise funds and successfully providing a delicious sausage sizzle to attendees.Hills Pumas FC look forward to retain and grow our network of families coming together to enjoy the social and physical aspects that the game of soccer can bring to players, parents and spectators. We are welcoming junior players to register from U6 to U12s this year to compete in the local Hills Football community. All junior games are played every Saturday morning between April and August.
