Where was Deadmans Hill and who were the mates attempting to reach the bottom safely? Who was Tiger Kelly and who was Tony?
People and times past will give the answers when Nathan Tilbury is the guest speaker at the Society’s meeting on the 12th March. Again we will meet in the Uniting Church, School Road, Galston at 2.00pm.
On the 12th February, Ken Leeson and Trevor Knight guided a happy gathering of some sixty members and friends, through the story, sound and mechanics of the church’s historic pipe organ. It was an indication of everyone’s desire to be out and about after such a disappointing year of Covid 19 restrictions.
A bus trip to the Blue Mountains on the 15th March will be the Society’s first tour of the year.
The Blue Mountains Historical Society will provide morning tea and an inspection of their museum, then lead our members on a guided tour of their area of interest.
It is always a pleasure to meet like-minded and enthusiastic historians on our tours and surprising how many connections are made.
The Society cottage has been closed for on site research but enquiries continue to be received.
If any readers feel they might like to offer assistance on the Webb or Cusbert families, or recognise the building in the attached photograph sent by a University of Adelaide Phd student, the Society would be pleased to hear from them on 9653 1365.
