Young people in The Hills Shire can celebrate Youth Week 2025 with a FREE movie screening, art and technology workshops – all designed to empower, engage, and showcase their talents.

Running from April 12–17, this year’s Youth Week theme highlights the strengths of young people aged 12 to 24, recognising their ability to lead, influence, and shape their communities.

Mayor of The Hills Shire Council, Dr Michelle Byrne, said this is a fantastic opportunity to recognise and celebrate the contributions of young people.

“I am proud that Council is supporting this state-wide initiative to empower young people and provide them with opportunities to express themselves, connect with their peers, and explore their creativity. Youth Week is our way of saying ‘thank you’ and celebrating the bright and talented young people who help make The Hills a wonderful place to live” the Mayor said.

There are free interactive workshops, from designing custom tote bags and a gaming workshop to skateboarding and creating terrariums. Also included is a FREE screening of A Minecraft Movie, complete with complimentary popcorn and a choc top ice cream. The fun continues with the Youth Week Family Fun Day before wrapping up with The Hills Fall Festival—a festival-style event raising awareness of youth homelessness, hosted by Youth Rezolutions (Youth Rez) in partnership with Council.
