Tree Traps Woman

A 26-year-old woman sustained injuries to her neck and lower limbs when a tree fell onto the caravan she was in during the storms on Monday, January 4. CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance at 4:45pm and landed in Wiseman’s Ferry on a nearby oval around 5.05pm. NSW Ambulance paramedics had provided initial treatment to the woman. CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic worked with emergency services crews from the RFS and Fire and Rescue NSW to extricate the woman and perform a clinical assessment on her while taking spinal precautions. The woman was freed from the caravan after one-and-a-half-hours and was airlifted by helicopter in a stable condition to Westmead Hospital.
