The Hills community has once again responded generously to the Mayor’s Christmas Library Amnesty, with 106 boxes of non-perishable food donated throughout December.
“I’m so happy that the Library Amnesty has once again attracted such a large haul of food which could be donated via our friends at St Vincent de Paul,” Mayor Byrne said.
“The 106 boxes contained 2069 items of non-perishable food. There are families in the wider Sydney community doing it tough at the moment and every little bit of help goes a long way to helping them have a better Christmas.”
“The Library Amnesty is a great opportunity for us to recover some of our overdue stock, we even had some items returned from 2009.”
“I want to thank Hills residents for their response to this initiative and I look forward to bringing it back sometime soon.”
