Soroptimist International of the Hills

Soroptimist International of The Hills, domestic violence
Planning Day 2025

After a busy year Club members wrapped up their projects for 2024 with a project dear to their heart. As long time supporters of Hills Community Aid, especially their endeavours to assist local women who have experienced domestic violence, members of The Hills club were enthusiastic to again contribute to gift bags for the women and their children as a Christmas surprise.

On the day of their special Christmas lunch the bags were delivered along with some home made treats for their morning tea.

After a well deserved break activities commenced again in February with a Planning Day for the coming year and a changeover ceremony at our AGM for for a new President. This is a second time around for long time member Jenny McGlashan and we look forward to working with Jenny on our many projects planned for 2025.

Soroptimist International of The Hills is a part of a global movement started over 100 years ago that advocates to improve the lives of women and girls through education, gender equality and environmental issues. Soroptimist International has a seat at the United Nations. Active in The Hills for over 40 years members also provide support to existing local projects.

Club meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at the Crestwood Community Centre. Interested Community members can contact the club at sithehills@gmail.com and check our the website at www.seap.org
