Pacific Hills To Represent NSW At Science Nationals

A group of Year 9 and 10 students from Pacific Hills Christian School have won their way into the National Finals of the prestigious Science and Engineering Challenge which is operated by the University of Newcastle.

Over the past three years the School has won the Sydney round of the Challenge to compete at the State Finals and this year on their fourth appearance in Newcastle they made it to the top level of the competition.

The acclaimed STEM competition introduces students to Science projects not usually seen in the classroom. They form into teams and through that process the students learn about teamwork and communication as well as solving complex science and engineering challenges.

The Head of the Science Faculty, Erin Waterhouse, said, “The whole team showed determination, courage and beautiful character through their teamwork skills and it paid off. They will be one of three NSW representative teams competing at the Nationals. What an honour.”
