Pacific Hills Christian School: World Changers Club

Pacific Hills Christian School’s World Changers Club and the Kellyville Social Club team up for an Intergenerational Carnival.

By Rhonda Burfield and James Hinchon The World Changers Club at Pacific Hills Christian School is a weekly lunchtime club for Year 3 and 4 students to discuss and implement ways we can share God’s love and help others in our local community.

Recently, nine of our Year 4 students and teachers boarded the bus for a special visit to the Kellyville Social Club, a social group run through BaptistCare in Kellyville. The Social Club residents were excited to host the students for morning tea and an intergenerational carnival.

Students and their new friends teamed up for some friendly competition across a variety of games like Pictionary, 5 Second Rule, a giant memory match game and more.

Teachers’ Aide, Rhonda Burfield writes “It was wonderful to witness the young students work alongside the residents, finding similar interests and life experiences along the way.”

As the day ended, students and residents drew portraits of each other and exchanged them as memorable gifts to take home. This fantastic initiative was enjoyed by all, and valuable friendships were made in our wonderful community.
