This year was full of milestones, movements and makeovers. From the 80th Anniversary of Nati Bros, the 30th birthday of Glenorie Bakery, to the epic 40million dollar Oz Lotto win by a local Galston Couple it was a time of celebration for many.
We lost and gained an MP, elected two new Mayors (Hills & Hornsby) and farewelled Councillors while welcoming new ones. We also said goodbye to our local legend, renowned singer, Mr Frank Ifield.
The Galston Aquatic & Leisure centre was given a face lift and a new Children’s Forest was opened in a forgotten corner of Fagan Park. Businesses opened, closed or transmuted ownership and we enjoyed some new community events such as Food Truck Fridays and Sunset Melodies in conjunction with regular favourites including the Open Gardens and Arcadian Artists Trail.
On behalf of the entire GCN team I would like to wish all our readers, contributors and advertisers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Thank you for supporting our publication throughout 2024. We will be back in print in February 2025.
