Jane Seaglove Hornsby Councilor

Hello Residents,
The Community Strategic Plan, Your Vision | Your Future 2035, is now on public exhibition. Hornsby Shire Council’s top plan created with input from the community covers 2025–2035, highlighting key priorities, goals, and strategies to guide the Shire’s future and all Council projects.

The challenges seen by Council for the next 10 years include population growth, housing affordability, traffic, transport, economic and technology changes, the environment, climate change, and supporting social diversity and resilience.

“As a Council, it’s important that we remain community-led in all our projects, decisions and plans. That’s why we’re excited to seek your feedback on Your Vision | Your Future 2035, our Community Strategic Plan,” said Mayor, Warren Waddell.

Hornsby Shire Council is thrilled to host Taste of the World, celebrating cultural diversity at Hornsby Mall on Friday, 4th April, from 4 PM to 8 PM. Enjoy music, dance, workshops, a pop-up bar, and food trucks, with entertainment starting at 5 PM, featuring Lily Guerrero & Band, Bollywood dancers, Samba Brazil, and more. Mayor Warren Waddell highlights the event as a celebration of the Shire’s vibrant multicultural community.

Last week I attended Food Truck Fridays at Galston Reserve which was a fabulous event with people of all ages attending. We look forward to the next round when the music and the food associated with this event returns to Galston.

In March, Hornsby Shire celebrated Seniors Week 2025 with events honouring senior residents. Highlights included a Riverboat Postman cruise with 98 attendees, the “Time to Shine” art exhibition at Wallarobba Arts Centre, and the Senior & Student Sing! event at Galston Club, uniting generations through music.
