The redevelopment of Woodbury Reserve is steadily taking form, with a recent site tour highlighting how community input is influencing the transformation of the popular Hawkesbury space.
On 9 April 2026, Hawkesbury City Council hosted a site walkthrough, inviting stakeholders from sporting groups, government agencies, and local services to observe progress and discuss the project’s next steps. The visit underscored a collaborative approach to ensure the upgraded facilities meet both current and future needs.
Set in Glossodia, the reserve has long served as a local gathering point. The redevelopment seeks to expand that role by delivering modern infrastructure capable of supporting a broader range of activities. Discussions during the tour focused on aligning construction outcomes with local users’ expectations, particularly those of sporting clubs anticipating improved playing conditions and amenities.
Early works under Phase 1 are progressing, laying the groundwork for more extensive upgrades. These will build on existing features such as the skate park and pump track, which were completed as part of earlier investment in the site.
Backed by funding from both the Australian and New South Wales Governments, the project represents a coordinated effort to strengthen community assets in the region. The inclusion of additional elements such as bike trails reflects a growing emphasis on active lifestyles and accessible outdoor spaces.
As construction continues, Woodbury Reserve is emerging as a key example of how regional infrastructure projects can evolve through ongoing consultation and shared planning.
