Hawkesbury Parks across the region are up for renewal, with Hawkesbury City Council calling on residents to have their say on four separate upgrades to local playgrounds and open spaces before the consultation windows close.
The projects cover Rutherglen Park in Hobartville, Bradley Road Reserve in South Windsor, Navua Reserve in Grose Wold and Brinsley Park in Pitt Town. Council says feedback gathered now will shape final designs, with construction to begin once funding is secured for each site.
At Rutherglen Park, the plan is to remove the current playground entirely and install new equipment, softer safety surfacing, and shade structures for children across a range of ages. That consultation runs until 9 August 2026.
Bradley Road Reserve is a step further back in the process. Rather than a finished design, council is asking residents to weigh in while landscape architects are still drawing up concept options for a new playground. That window stays open until 26 August 2026.
The two remaining projects are bigger in scope. Navua Reserve, a well-used spot along the river at Grose Wold, has a draft masterplan on the table that includes better vehicle access and parking, new picnic areas, improved river access, accessible paths and walking tracks, environmental restoration, extra shade planting and signage explaining the reserve’s environmental and cultural history.
Brinsley Park in Pitt Town has its own draft masterplan, with proposals for upgraded sporting facilities, new pedestrian links, more parking, added landscaping and shade, spaces for people to gather, outdoor exercise equipment and work on the park’s entry and memorial area. Feedback on both masterplans closes 16 August 2026.
Council has been clear that neither masterplan locks anything in — each is subject to further design work, funding and approvals down the track.
