Glenorie Probus Club Activities

Glenorie Probus Club has finished the year with another active period.

A very informative visit to Luddenham to view the new airport site was held. We were able to see the progress to date as well as see plans for the completed airport and opening schedule.

Probus Day was celebrated in October with a picnic in Fagans Park It was an opportunity to appreciate some of the excellent facilities we have in the area and to have a very relaxing and enjoyable BBQ. November saw a visit to Cockatoo Island.

The guide took the members on the Lower Island Tour and explained some of the history of this area which has been used since the days of Governor Phillip for a variety of activities from convict prison to Naval repair base.

The monthly guest speakers have covered a range of items of interest. A representative from Services NSW spoke in October to go through some of the benefits available to members in a wide range of areas. In September we had a talk on the activities of Days for Girls.

The year will finish with a Christmas Lunch at Glenorie RSL. We look forward to another varied and interesting year in 2024 with plans well under way for many exciting activities.

The Club meets on the at 11.00am on the 4th Wednesday of the month at Glenorie RSL and new members are welcome.
