Residents of Galston awoke to an unpleasant surprise on Sunday 21st June, discovering a recently opened business in the Galston Village shopping centre ablaze.
Local homeowners rushed to extinguish the fire before emergency services arrived on the scene. Neighbouring food premises, Thai Square Cuisine escaped relatively unscathed except for some apparent smoke damage to the front facade.
NSW Police Provided the Following Statement:
About 5.40am on Sunday (21st June 2026), emergency services were called to a business on Galston Road, Galston, following reports of a fire.
Officers attached to Ku-Ring-Gai Police Area Command attended the business and found the fire had been extinguished by residents nearby.
There was minor structural damage to the building with no injuries reported.
A crime scene has been established with an investigation into the cause the fire underway. Inquiries continue.
