THE FINAL of the Major singles for 2019 has been played between Christine Fitzgerald and Leone Lesslie and Dural has a new Champion in Christine after a fittingly tough match. It is Christine’s first singles win to go with a number of team events both at home and in the district events. She is looking forward to meeting the champions from other NSW clubs in the Champion of Club Champions to be played in a few weeks.
The ladies joined the men running the sausage sizzle at Bunnings to raise some funds to enhance the clubs facilities. It was a busy time but a good opportunity to put the sport of bowls on show in the community.
The ladies who went to the State carnival up on the mid north coast had an enjoyable time meeting teams from across the state and the strong metropolitan clubs.
