Brass bands, fresh Christmas trees, Christmas carols and festive markets are all happening over the next few weeks to celebrate Christmas Cheer.
JANUARY 2ND 2024
The Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Rose Garden is one of the largest of its kind in NSW, with over 4,000 roses from 80 different species. The garden also features concrete pathways, making it accessible for wheelchairs and prams.
The rose garden is located on Roxborough Park Road, Baulkham Hills next to Waves Fitness and Aquatic Centre. The lights will be switched on from 7:30pm on Thursday, 28 November and will light up the rose garden each night until Thursday, 2 January 2025.
LIGHT UP WINDSOR STREET FAIR (OPEN STREETS PROGRAM)
Saturday, 30th November 2024 – 5pm – 9pm Windsor will be lit up all the way along George Street from the Windsor Train Station to the Windsor Mall. Historic Thompson Square will be activated and 50+ market stalls will extend along Windsor Mall, George Street and Baker Street.
DECEMBER 3RD: CONCERT AND LUNCH
If you want to feel like Christmas has arrived and a brass band will do it for you then Dural Salvation Army is holding a free Christmas concert and lunch on Tuesday 3rd December. The event is at the Dural Salvation Army premises on the corner of Newline Rd and Old Northern Road Dural and the festivities start at 10am.
The Salvation Army Sydney Veterans Band, a brass band of over 30 players, will present a musical program including popular Christmas music. Entry is from Old Northern Road.
CHARITY CHRISTMAS WRAP
Hills Relay For Life Volunteers will be wrapping your gifts for a go ld coin donation at Castle Towers from Monday, December 2nd until COB on Christmas Eve. All funds raised will go to the Cancer Council to find research and support programs.
DECEMBER 8TH: CHRISTMAS CAROLS
Glenhaven Carols by Candlelight has been a community favourite for over 20 years. On Sunday, December 8th Glenhaven Oval will be filled with thousands of local residents ready to celebrate the festive season. Reid the Music, Jenna’s Singing School, Sister 2 Sister School of Singing, NorthWest Wind Ensemble, Castle Hill RSL Youth Wind Orchestra and the Hills District Pipe Band are all set to entertain.
There will be food, rides and attractions with the event starting at 4pm. Santa will be coming to town and the firework finale starts at 9pm.
DECEMBER 7TH AND 8TH AND DECEMBER 14TH AND 15TH: CHRISTMAS TREES
Rotary Clubs across the Hills and Hawkesbury will be selling fresh Christmas trees across two weekends. All profits will fund Rotary charity initiatives.
The Rotary Club of Hills-Kellyville is selling at two locations. Club members will be selling trees on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th December and Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th December at The Bull & Bush Hotel (car park), cnr Windsor Rd and Seven Hills Rd, Baulkham Hills and at The Ettamogah Hotel (car park), cnr Windsor Rd and Merriville Rd, Kellyville Ridge.
Norwest Sunrise Rotary Club will be selling fresh Christmas trees on the same weekends from the underground carpark at Bunnings, Castle Hill.
