GUEST SPEAKER – ALAN MATHEWS AUSTRALIAN NATIVE BIRDS
The Bromeliad Society of Australia will hold their next meeting at the Federation Pavilion, Castle Hill Showground on Saturday, 7 March with plant sales commencing at 11am followed by the meeting at 12noon.Access is via the Showground entrance off Showground Road into Doran Drive, Castle Hill, with plenty of parking on site.
At this meeting the Treasurer of the Bromeliad Society of Australia, Alan Mathews who is also a passionate bird watcher will discuss the Australian native birds we are likely to see in our Sydney backyards.
His talk titled “Birds of the Past – Present – Future and the human effect on bird life. Alan will choose between 15 – 20 Australian native birds to discuss. Bird watching is great for the soul and our wellbeing.
The talk will include the feeding of native birds, leaving water out for birds and the types of vessels to use. Growing a suitable habitat to attract native birds into your garden.
BSA meetings include plant sales, club news, raffles and competitions as well as providing an opportunity to meet with like-minded people in a friendly and inviting environment.
