Bromeliad Society Hosts Plant Sales and Demonstrations

Bromeliad growers across Sydney’s north-west will gather at the Federation Pavilion, Castle Hill Showground on Saturday, 8th August, for the Bromeliad Society of Australia’s next monthly meeting. Doors open to the public at 10am for plant sales, with the formal meeting starting at 11.30 am.

This month’s guest speaker is Robyn Bible from the Australian Geranium Society, who will talk through the wide varieties of geraniums and pelargoniums and bring a large selection of live examples for members to see up close.

Robyn has spent more than fifty years growing the plants and is known for sharing that knowledge freely with anyone who asks. Her session will cover ideal growing conditions, where different varieties work best in a garden, and a hands-on demonstration of pruning and propagation. She’ll also have plants of her own for sale on the day.

The meeting will run alongside the club’s usual mix of activities — competitions, a raffle, and Show & Tell, plus the newer “Show” category, which lets members bring along a plant simply to share, without judging or discussion attached. Organisers describe the group as a welcoming spot for anyone keen to meet other plant lovers.
