The Arthouse Pavilion Gallery in Dural is launching a new art and community event this November to be held over two weekends (14-15, 21-22) called ART.AND…’Celebration’. The new ART.AND…series, by local Artists And Incorporated experienced curators, will create regular events and exhibitions that highlight a range of carefully sourced, talented Sydney artists whose hands paint, hammer, twist, bend, fire, print, knit and weld.
Their inaugural art event this year, ART.AND…’Celebration’ will collaborate with the best of local restaurants, nurseries and other businesses in the area, will celebrate venturing out after Covid-19 lockdown; will celebrate the beauty exhibited in art and nature particularly in our beautiful rural area and will celebrate the safety and security we are afforded in this great southern land we call home.
Usually, The Arthouse Pavilion Gallery is accounted for during November when it is part of The Arcadian Artists Exhibition and Art Trail where thousands of tourists and locals explore local art studios over one weekend of the year. However, the Arcadian Artists committee decided earlier in the year to cancel its trail when Covid-19 struck due to the magnitude of monitoring such a large event across numerous venues.
Having been approached by several artists who are keen to exhibit this year, as well as many Sydney siders who are very keen to venture out into the Spring air to explore local Sydney suburbs and have something stimulating to do, The Arthouse Pavilion Gallery launched their new event series.
ART.AND…’Celebration’, in partnership with Hornsby Council, will host 8 talented artists and will be held over two weekends to allow for the control of numbers and social distancing. The event is a registered COVID-19 safe event with NSW Health. While the event is free, visitors will be required to register their details to attend. Event-goers can pre-register to secure their free ticket at www. artand.com.au or on the day at the Gallery entrance.
The Arthouse Pavilion Gallery, located in Dural, is owned by local artist Merilyn Chappel. Having lived in Dural for over 40 years, she is passionate about the area. Her vision for the ART. AND… series, is to combine art with local farmer’s markets (ART. AND… ‘Local Produce’), art with growers (ART.AND… ‘Let’s Grow’), art and restaurants and cafes (ART.AND… ‘Taste’). By collaborating with the best of the local food, wine and growers outlets, ART.AND… will present the best of the art, food and locally grown produce that our unique rural area has to offer. With a unique rural location, locals and tourists alike can soak up the atmosphere and beauty of The Arthouse Pavilion Gallery and the surrounding area, while meeting the creators, cooks, brewers and growers in person.
