My Name is Amylie, I’m a Grade 3 Para Rider based in Arcadia NSW. I have recently been added to the Next Generation (Next Gen) Australian Para- Equestrian Team. This means that one day in the future I will hopefully be competing overseas representing Australia.
A bit about myself. I was born with Epilepsy and Cerebral Palsy di Hemiplegia – The Cerebral Palsy affects both sides of my body. Growing up was difficult but myself and my family have a motto Get up and have a go.
I started riding when I was 15 years old with help from a charity organisation called Variety. I have not looked back since, Horse riding has helped me with my balance and coordination skills as well as my general health, mental health, and overall wellbeing.
With help from family and friends and my trusty steed Evie a WarmBlood X Thoroughbred I hope to do the next 3 qualifying events here in Australia.
PLEASE HELP ME ON MY FUNDRAISING JOURNEY.
Getting to the qualifiers is one step closer to the 2024 Paralympics.
There are protocols which mean myself, my support person, groom plus the horse need to stay on venue for the required 4 days (horse health inspection day + 3 days of competition). This is a costly endeavour each event can cost up to 8k per event!
THERE ARE 3 EVENTS IN 2024 THAT WILL HELP ME OPEN MY QUALIFYING JOURNEY:
- 15-18th February at Bawly point NSW
- 18-21st April Boneo Park Victoria
- 14-18th June Horsley Park Sydney
Please see the link to my donation page. All donations are tax deductible, so far I have raised $5,000.
Thank you to the community that have already donated and supported me in my journey.
