Like so many others in the area, my power was out after the extreme weather event of Wednesday, 15th January. By Thursday evening I had pretty much exhausted what was edible in my fridge/freezer so thought I would just pop down to Aldi to grab something I could put in my gas oven.
As I walked down the aisles, I was absolutely stunned to see that not a skerrick of chilled or frozen food was on the shelves. It was even worse than the covid days! I believe that a lot of food had very kindly been donated to the Helping Hearts Survive Charity at Dural whilst it was still ok. Luckily it was the special Schnitty night at the Galston Club, so I went there instead!
