Now that agapanthus has finished blooming, don’t forget to cut off their dead flower heads.
Not only will this make them look tidier, it will also reduce the chance of the plants seeding into our bushland. Agapanthus come from South Africa so can make themselves quite at home in our climate.
We usually rely on local Good Samaritans to deadhead the aggies on the Galston/Mid Dural Road roundabout but this season the maintenance gardeners trimmed back the plants in spring so they didn’t get a chance to flower at all.
Still, we hope everyone enjoyed the fabulous summer display produced by the recently planted red flowering gums at the same intersection. Thank you Hornsby Shire Council. They looked wonderful.
