200 teams, 3,800kms,7 days tin the outback in Shitbox Rally
PICTURE THIS!!! You buy a car for under $1,000, decorate it in an outrageous fashion and join 200 like-minded teams from around Australia. Now to be eligible you need to raise $4,000 as a donation for the Cancer Council. Next you drive the car through outback Australia from Adelaide via Roxby Downs, the Oodnadatta Track, Alice Springs, the Plenty Highway, Mt Isa, Normanton, Einasleigh and on to Cairns, over $3,800 klms in 7 days. There the car is auctioned off and the proceeds also go to the Cancer Council.
Meet Glenorie team – Lorraine Mooring and her daughter Kerrie as co-driver. Kerrie is a busy mother of 3. The children will be looked after by hubby Dave, Pastor of the Penrith Church of Christ, for the duration of the rally.
As a retiree, Lorraine has more time for leisure pursuits with the Triumph Sports Owners Association, Hills Masters Swimming and her new venture with the Rural Fire Service.
