By Councilor Warren Waddell
“I am once again feeling privileged on being returned as a Hornsby Shire Councillor. ” Warren Waddell said
I would especially like to thank the ratepayers of Award for the trust and support that has been placed in me, both last term and for the term that lay ahead.
This will be a short term of less than three years. So it is important that we hit the ground running, bring the new Councillors up to speed and bring about real action where it is required.
It is my pledge to do the best job possible in serving all members of our community and in particular, ensuring issues within the less populated regions of our shire are not overlooked.
What can you expect to see within the short and long term…?
– The first stage in connecting the Aldi complex to the existing footpath network
– The opening of the new boat ramps at Wiseman’s Ferry
– The stripping out of the Galston Aquatic Centre in preparation for the renovations to proceed
– The progression of the Ray Whiteman Heritage fence and park upgrade in Glenorie
– Meeting the challenges of a wet Summer in terms of clearing vegetation and drainage
– Design and costing for projected key rural road improvements
– More Public Domain project detail and delivery
On the environmental front, I would also like to highlight Hornsby Shire Council’s success in taking out the joint Keeping Australia Beautiful award for our team’s work in the category of Waterways and Marine protection.
Waterways within our Shire are extremely important and we are very fortunate to have such a dedicated team when it comes to maintaining and monitoring the health of these natural assets.
