Rotary Club of West Pennant Hills and Cherrybrook

The Rotary Club held its Changeover Dinner on Sunday 26 June which was well attended by members and guests. The outgoing Board was thanked and the incoming Board was welcomed. Our new President for 2022/2023 is Janelle Craig.

The Club held its Pride of Workmanship Awards on 4 July 2022 at Springfield House, Dural. The Pride of Workmanship Award is designed to acknowledge an employee or volunteer who displays outstanding qualities in terms of dedication and commitment to their work.

This year our awardees were Lucy-Jade Folkard from Dural Flower Farm Florists, Frank and Livio Leuzzi from Next Generation Hair, Michele Rocheta the founder of Goods Rescued and Rehomed and Cathy Yu who received her award for her work with the Cherrybrook Guides where she is now the District Manager. Mr David Firth, the scheme’s principal, presented the awards.

The Club participated in the Pennant Hills High School’s inaugural Winter Carnival on Saturday 25 June. As a community service the Club ran a sausage sizzle serving over 1100 sausage sandwiches and 320 cans of soft drink between 2pm and 9pm. All the proceeds went back to the School.

The Club will be hosting its annual Trivia Night Saturday 20 August at the Cherrybrook Community Centre, Shepherds Drive, Cherrybrook. Money raised will be donated to “Grace’s Place”, a unique place of healing and restoration for children affected by homicide. $20 per person. Working on tables of 8 we can assist/coordinate/put teams together. Ample parking. Join us for a fun night. Bookings essential: 0468 330 667

The Club will be running a sausage sizzle at the West Pennant Hills Public School Fete on Sunday 21 August. All proceeds raised will go back to the school.
