The Sydney Hills most prestigious building and design awards are back. Entries for the 2016 Hills Building & Design Awards are now open to all Hills located building and design projects completed between 1 March 2015 and 17 June 2016. The Awards, established in 1993, have recognised innovative, sustainable and outstanding design and construction in the Sydney Hills for 23 years.
Two exciting NEW categories for 2016 are ‘Bathrooms’ and the People’s Choice Awards’ – which will for the first time allow Hills residents to vote for their favourite entries across all categories.
Mayor of the Hills Shire Dr Michelle Byrne said the awards are a great way to recognise the amazing local projects that are undertaken each year and add to the desirability of the Hills Shire as a great place to live.
“The Hills Shire is home to some outstanding building, construction and design companies as well as some beautiful and innovative building and design projects. The Hills Building & Design Awards encourage residents and businesses to maintain these high standards of design and construction, they also welcome businesses external to the Hills Shire to invest their industry knowledge, skills and style on Hills projects,” she said.
“The exposure we, as an LGA, gain from the participation of national companies in local builds and in the Hills Building & Design Awards positively contributes to the perception of the Hills Shire as a desirable place to live, build, establish families and experience community.”
The Hills Building & Design Awards provides a platform for recognition, networking and celebration within the local and further building and design industry. The eight month entry and judging process culminates in a spectacular Gala Dinner on October 21at Curzon Hall which will bring together finalists, builders, industry leaders, designers, media personnel, sponsors and winners for a night of well-deserved reward and celebration.
“The Hills Building & Design Awards is the most prestigious event on Council’s calendar. It is one of the foremost building and design awards in NSW offering invaluable promotion for its entrants. The awards not only recognise industry leaders for exceptional local projects they also set the bar for those looking to build or renovate in 2016/17 and enter next year’s awards,” Mayor Byrne said.
