Learning music sets children up for success in all sorts of ways, academically and socially and the music program at Arcadia Public School is grooving along from strength to strength. Our fabulous band program continues to expand with students from Years 3 to 6 choosing to learn a wide range of instruments from the drums to the trombone. 2017 is the third year of the Olivia Carter band scholarship. This generous scholarship encourages and nurtures a love of music and performance in our students and to date has funded instrument hire and repair, music tuition, as well as, attendance at band camp for a number of our students. Keep an ear out for the Arcadia Public School band as they perform at school functions, local preschools and Rowland Village throughout the year. The Galston Branch of the Bendigo Bank has once again shown the value they place in supporting quality educational initiatives. At the end of 2016 they donated $3000 to our school for the purchase of the Macquarie University Macqlit reading resource. Thank you for your generosity Bendigo Bank. You make a real difference in the community!
