NSW Pony Club recognizes the valuable contribution of volunteers at Arcadia Pony Club

Members of Arcadia Pony Club have been recognised by Pony Club NSW for their commitment and dedication to the core values of Pony Club.

Melissa Harris has been a member of Arcadia Pony Club for nearly five years, her daughter Sarah is a riding member of the Club. Melissa joined the Arcadia Pony Club Committee at the beginning of 2015 in her current capacity as Canteen Manager. She is very well known for always being warm, friendly and engaging to everyone at a rally day! Nothing is too much trouble for her – from putting up jumps, to managing the canteen all day and trialing new canteen processes and menus. She has rarely missed a rally day – ever!

She also arranges for her lovely husband Geoff to attend and manage the BBQ for events such as Zone or Closed events.

Katie Breatnach, President of Arcadia Pony Club said “Volunteers such as Melissa are the backbone of clubs like ours. They turn up every single rally day and every competition helping out and it’s wonderful that they can be recognised for the dedication and the valuable assistance they provide.

Mel’s smiling face and positive attitude are appreciated by everyone. “ Fifteen year old Emily Horbach was also awarded the ‘Pony Club of NSW Junior Service Award’. The

Junior Service Award was introduced in 2013 and acknowledges the service of junior members of pony club. Emily has been a member of Arcadia Pony Club for nearly four years.

Emily has a very high attendance record and consistently assists with set up and pack up for rally days, Closed events, and for all Zone events hosted by Arcadia Pony Club. She also enthusiastically participated in all activities associated with the Club’s Open Day in November 2015.

Leanne Davies, Senior Instructor of Arcadia Pony Club said “Emily is a lovely young lady who always displays a positive attitude and a warm smile. She is encouraging and consistently helping out other members of the Club, especially the younger riders. She is also always on hand to assist at rally day set up and pack up without being asked”.

Both Melissa and Emily receive acknowledgement on the Pony Club of NSW website honour role, a certificate and a prize pack including items from Mitavite, Australia’s HorseWise magazine and SunSense.
