LITTLE ATHLETICS KIDS IN SYDNEY’S NORTH IN THE RUNNING TO MEET KIMBERLEE GREEN

Now in its third year, Jetstar has taken its partnership with Little Athletics Australia to the next level announcing today that the Little Jetstars competition will be bigger and better in 2017, offering entrants from Sydney’s north a chance to meet local sporting hero, GWS Giants netballer, Kimberlee Green.

The ultimate search for Australia’s most passionate young athletes, the Little Jetstars competition celebrates good sportsmanship and dedication amongst Jetstar Little Athletics Australia participants with five lucky winners receiving an exclusive training session for them and 15 friends, led by one of Australia’s most well-known athletes – a Jetstar “Big Hero”.

Having each participated in Little Athletics growing up, Kimberlee Green is part of an elite group of Australian athletes who have been chosen as Jetstar “Big Heroes” to lead the charge at training sessions all over the country.

Chief Commercial Officer of Jetstar Australia, Catriona Larritt, is ecstatic to see the Little Jetstars competition going from strength to strength.

“Jetstar is the proud naming rights sponsor of Jetstar Little Athletics Australia and it is great to have some of Australia’s biggest sporting stars on board. We’re pleased to bring the Little Jetstars competition to all Jetstar Little Athletics Australia participants for the 2016/17 season,” said Ms Larritt.

“Through our continued partnership with Jetstar Little Athletics Australia we look forward to further cementing our commitment to Australian communities. We are delighted to be helping little athletes reach for the stars.”

Kimberlee Green is really excited to be involved in the Little Jetstars program and to get back to her grass roots where it all began.

“Little Athletics holds very fond memories for me and is such a great start for any kid who loves sport,” said Green

“I had a lot of fun in my days at St George Little Athletics club and it was a great excuse to stay healthy and get involved in the community from a young age! I’m really excited to be part of the Little Jetstars program and can’t wait to have a run around with the kids.”

The first of five Little Jetstars competition winners will be announced at the beginning of November and the remaining winners announced monthly through to March.

With more than 100,000 participants across 540 centres, Jetstar Little Athletics Australia is a uniquely Australian program based on track and field events that is open to kids between 5 and 15 years.

To enter the Little Jetstars competition, registered Little Athletics participants can head to www.littlejetstars.com.au and describe in 25 words or less, how Little Athletics will help them become a big hero.

The Little Jetstars competition is now open, with entries closing on Tuesday 28 February, 2017 at 23:59pm.
