Hillside Public School Students’ Learning Enhanced by New Touch Screens

By Julian Leeser

Hillside Public School has purchased 2 state-of-the-art 70” glass touch screen panels with the aid of a Local School Community Fund grant from the Australian Government.

The touch screens have been installed in 2 classrooms and are a great addition to the school, enabling teachers to make lessons more interactive for students.

Member for Berowra, Julian Leeser, recently visited Hillside Public School to see how the students are benefiting from the information technology upgrades.

Mr Leeser was impressed with both the new technology and the student’s capabilities with the new devices. “They are much more advanced than the chalkboards I used to learn on!”, remarked Mr Leeser after being shown by the students how the screens work.

“The screens are a fantastic new addition to the school, transforming the way students interact with their lessons,” he said.

Over $11,000 has been provided by the Coalition Government to fund this information technology upgrade at Hillside Public School. In addition to enhancing the learning opportunities for school students at Hillside, the new interactive touch screens can be used by community groups such as the Before and After School Care activities onsite.

“The Coalition Government recognises the important role that schools play in our community and that’s why we’re funding small projects that will make a big difference at our local schools,” Mr Leeser said. “It’s great to be able to contribute to projects such as these through the Local Schools Community Fund to upgrade the tools our students can learn with.”

The funds are provided as part of the Local Schools Community Fund. For more information about the fund, visit https://www.education.gov.au/local-schools-community-fund
