Ku Galston Preschool – Celebrates 125 Years

KU Galston Preschool has celebrated the 125th anniversary of KU Children’s Services (KU).

The preschool is run by KU which was founded 125 years ago in 1895 and was the first provider of early childhood education and care in Australia.

The Ku Galston Preschool recognised the special milestone by collecting food items and creating hampers to donate to the St Vincent de Paul Society to support families in need over the Christmas period.

“We thought that we might be able to get 125 items donated, however, we received many more than 125 items due to the generosity of our families,” said KU Galston Director, Rebecca Onslow.

The theme of the 125 years celebration was ‘making a difference through 125 years of social impact and early education.

“We spoke with the children about many families not having enough food and what we could do to support them. The children thought that asking families to donate food would ensure that they had something to eat over Christmas,” said Rebecca.

“We have been talking with the children about gratitude and we are grateful that we have enough food and we wanted to do something for those that don’t have enough.”

KU Galston provides quality early childhood education for children aged 3 – 5 years and is currently taking enrolments. For more information contact the Director, Rebecca Onslow on 02 9653 2252.

KU Children’s Services is one of Australia’s leading providers of high quality early childhood education and care and enriches the lives of more than 10,000 children and families each year through around 130 services and programs.
