Hills Grammar News- Jessica’s National Success

Diminutive Jessica Callus in Year 5 at Hills Grammar was over the moon when she was selected into the NSW team to compete in the Australian Interschool Championship in Toowoomba last month. Jess and her ponies Yartarla Park Chipmonk and Glynyarra Park Classic made the long journey to Queensland in the school holidays for what became a truly memorable meet.

On Chipmonk, Jess was awarded Champion Primary Show Hunter and was a member of the Champion Show Horse team. On Classic, she placed 6th overall in the Primary Show Hunter and 3rd in the Primary Preliminary Dressage and made the Reserve Champion Primary Dressage team.

“The Hills Grammar Equestrian Team has been a long standing sporting option in our co-curricular program. Students from both Junior and Senior sections of the school have represented in all modes of riding at the many competitions held throughout the state. The team has achieved remarkable success over the years as have individuals like Jessica who went through to represent NSW Schools,” commented Yass Sidaros, Director of Co-Curricular Programs.
