Glenorie Rural Fire Brigade News

On Sunday 14 August 2016 Glenorie Brigade joined with Arcadia, Galston, Maroota, Middle Dural and Hornsby Support Brigades for the annual service for the RFS (Rural Fire Service) at Galston Uniting Church. Thank you Rev. Geoff Smith, Paul Udy, Elizabeth Garlick and all who worked hard to make the day a really lovely celebration followed by a delicious lunch.

Hornsby RFS chaplain, Christopher Pears blessed the fire vehicles and prayed for the safety of crews throughout the coming bush fire season.

I was privileged to be asked to share why I joined and “Why we do what we do”. Incredibly hard to put into just a few words!

GLENORIE PUBLIC SCHOOL FAIR
The brigade will be at the school fair Sunday 18 September, and would love to chat to you about the upcoming fire season and the best way you can prepare your family, home and property.

BRIGADE TRAINING
This month’s training was First Aid and as often happens we were then called to assist at a motor vehicle accident the following week. A sobering reminder how important training is and also a reminder to drive safely to the road conditions.

FIRE SEASON STARTS OCTOBER 1

Failure to comply with regulations can incur a fine.
