Glenorie Pony Club – Grand Opening of Equine Venue

Glenorie Pony Club held the Official Grand Opening of their New Club House on December 4 th which marked the importance of the support from the Hills Council and the local Equine Community.

After several years of discussions, meetings, planning and hard work the new building was finally ready to be opened by Councillor Yvonne Keane, the Mayor of the The Hills Shire Council. Also in attendance were Deputy Mayor Robyn Preston, the Patron of GHPC Dr Michelle Byrne and Councillors Taylor, Thomas and Tracey.

The day started with about 30 riders competing in a show jumping/sporting competition, and concluded with the official opening and a sausage sizzle. It was fantastic to celebrate with many former members of GHPC in attendance, as well as several of our truly valued Life Members.

Also in attendance were two people who were instrumental in the construction of the new clubhouse. Mr Alan Ng is the Senior Building Projects Officer for The Hills Shire Council, his technical knowledge and experience during the planning and construction was invaluable. Mr Michael Sande was also present, representing Everytrade Building Services P/L, who build the new clubhouse. Michael was the supervisor, as well as being very much “hands on” during the construction phase. Without Alan and Michael we would not have received such a wonderful clubhouse.

The new clubhouse marks a great time in the history of GHPC. We now have what are without doubt one of the best Equine venues in Sydney, if not all NSW.  Memberships have risen @400% in the last several years, we have locked in a 20 year licence for our grounds and we have won a clean sweep of all club trophies at the Zone 26 Jamboree for the last 3 years in a row. We have many qualified instructors, and a friendly, welcoming & supportive environment. Truly there has never been a better time to join the Glenorie Horse & Pony Club!

We would like to thank the wonderful Members, Committee of the Pony Club and Sponsors Bendigo Bank and Glenorie RSL who have helped grow, maintain and contributed to our amazing Team Comradery of the Club.
