More fun and friendship at Arcadia Pony Club camp!

Each year Arcadia Pony Club holds their pony club camp weekend where members, their families and their horses spend two nights at an equestrian facility that caters to pony clubs not far just a few hours from Sydney. It is a highlight for members and instructors alike who have the opportunity to ride all weekend along with spending time with their pony club friends.

This year, Arcadia Pony Club held their annual camp on the last weekend in October at Vision Valley, nestled in the valley of the Ourimbah state forest.

The camp was very well attended with 20 riders and family members and 20 horses and ponies. The weather was great and all riders were saddled up bright and early Saturday morning to explore the cross country jumps and the riding trails.

Late Saturday afternoon after riding there was bareback riding, swimming and even grass sledding – though the grass sledding was for the riders only, not the ponies!

Saturday evening was spent around the camp fire for dinner and sharing stories from the day, whilst toasting marshmallows and then a few games of spotlight Sunday was more fun with trail riding with campers sadly packing up after lunch to head home.

A special thanks to our Club President Katie for organising the weekend; and to the wonderful instructors that also attended with their own families and horses and ran sessions throughout the camp. We can’t wait for Pony Club camp next year!

Do you love horses, enjoy teaching children and think you may have an interest in becoming a pony club instructor? We would love to hear from you. We provide a safe and structured learning program in line with Pony Club NSW guidelines.

Arcadia Pony meets the first, third and fifth Sunday every month at the Rural Sports Facility in Galston. We’d love to see you there!
