A recent event showcased the life and work of Francis Webb, regarded by Les Murray as one of Australia’s greatest poets. Dr. Michael Griffith, an expert on Webb with a PhD on the poet, delivered a talk about Webb’s poems set in Galston, including one about Foster’s Waterhole.
Dr. Griffith shared insights from his acclaimed book, “GOD’S FOOL: The Life and Poetry of Francis Webb,” available on Amazon. The gathering featured free entry, with a gold coin donation for afternoon tea, celebrating Webb’s lasting impact on Australian literature.
