Dural Public School

Dural Public School hosted its Open Day on Wednesday the 2nd of August to celebrate 175 years of public education. It was an incredible showcase of talent, effort and determination from all students across all learning areas.

We started the day with our Acknowledgment to Country, written and presented by our very own Kindy classes, which paid respect to the traditional owners of the land that Dural Public School resides on and how we can show care to the land.

This was followed by a brilliant display of musical talent from the Senior Concert Band, K-2 Choir, 3-4 Choir, 5-6 Choir, Recorder and Strings Group and the Kindy classes.

It is always great to realise how lucky we are to have such dedicated teachers who provide so many opportunities for the different talents at Dural Public School. Even the rain came to watch the performance!

Dural Public SchoolLuckily, the rain did not stay for long, and we were able to stay dry while watching a wonderful dance from the Kindy classes that showed what they’ve been learning in PDHPE all semester. We all need to remember to ‘Give it a Go!’…Thanks, Kindy! Dural Public School loved having our community join the students in their classrooms to engage with what they have been learning all year.

It was heartwarming to see the pride and excitement from the students as they shared their hard work with their loved ones. The mixture of technology, bookwork, artwork and classroom displays showed the variety of learning styles across the school. The Art Room and Library were set up beautifully, and it was lovely to see the families enjoying the showcase of hard work.

Thank you to the canteen volunteers who supplied such a lovely morning tea and made it possible to have such wonderful community involvement during a tasty picnic on our green playground. We are very proud to display the incredible things that are happening at Dural Public School and we appreciate everyone who joined us for another fantastic Open Day.
