Dural Bowlers Party

At the end of Judith Harris’s term as president the ladies at the Dural Country Club had a surprise lunch party. Not only are the ladies good bowlers but they certainly know how to keep a secret. It was a good excuse for a party and some of the ladies who had been absent with health issues were able to attend. The DCC kitchen put on a delightful selection of finger food to complement the setting arranged by the club’s social committee and helpers.

One of the last duties performed as president was to award hard working member, Gwen Scott, with an award for her all round contribution to the well-being of the club in a variety of ways. Ever modest, Gwen could see no reason for her certificate but the members all could.

President Robyn Scoble now has the reins with the help of a committee bursting with a mix of experience and enthusiasm. After a year in the planning, a bronze plaque was unveiled to remind all who come to the Country Club of the fifty years that bowling has been available in the district. Last year’s presidents, Gordon Scoble and Judith Harris unveiled it in the presence of board members, Club CEO and the current bowlers. On the green, the Consistency has reached the final two, and the first round of the Drawn Triples has been played.
