The largest crystal and gemstone festival of its kind in Australia is heading to the Central Coast.
The Central Coast Crystal Festival at Gosford Showground will be the first post COVID event run by Crystal Festivals Australia and will feature more than 100 stalls with traders from all Australia in line with current COVID restrictions.
There will be large crystal displays as well as valuable diamonds and opals and rare gemstones and fossils. New to this show will be exhibitors of rare Australian gold crystals and Australian Opal shell clusters from Coober Pedy SA.
It will be the seventh annual Central Coast Crystal Festival and attracts people from all over the Hawkesbury and Hills region. This year’s event will run from November 19th to November 21st.
The Scott family established Crystal Festivals Australia (CFA) in 2015 after accumulating knowledge about the gem industry over three generations.
Rob Scott says it’s in the blood. His mother Rebecca owned and operated multiple silver and sapphire mining operations and his grandparents were prospectors.
“We wanted to bring professional retail events to Australia that specifically focus on the trading of gem quality crystals, Australian opals, minerals, fossils and gemstone jewellery,” Rob told the Hills to Hawkesbury Community News.
“Such events have existed in Europe and the USA for decades in the form of gem and mineral shows, but in Australia, this industry was small and disconnected through our vast distances and inter-industry specialisation.
“Our company’s vision is to advertise Australia to the world as a leading locality for the rarest and highest grade of gemstones, crystals, minerals and fossils.”
He says CFA has coordinated the marketing of Australia’s “unique and highly valued gem quality crystals, gemstones, opals and fossils” for the past seven years.
“Our Crystal Festivals have become sought – after retail destinations for Australian and international buyers. The COVID period has allowed us the opportunity to expand in our reach within the Australian opal and gemstone prospecting community and we are looking forward to a very successful 2022 and beyond. “
The Central Coast Crystal Festival is a family-friendly all-weather event, trading both inside and outside. There will be stunning displays plus jewellery, gems and fossils to buy. There will be a great array of food stalls and coffee plus COVID-Safe seating areas for lunch. Only fully COVID vaccinated staff and patrons are allowed.
Tickets are $10 with free entry for children under 12. No concessions.
