COMMUNITY NURSERY OPEN DAYS FOR RESIDENT TREE COLLECTION

Over the past few years Council has lost many trees and our tree population is aging. Our planting program aims to ensure we maintain a leafy environment in our Shire for the next generation. These new trees will not mature for 20 years so they are an investment for our community in the future.

As the benefits of trees are enormous. We would like to ask for your assistance in being involved in the program, choose a tree for yourr nature strip/verge and help us to look after it. The trees will be watered once planted but any extra watering will ensure they survive any more summer heat we may get. We would also like to offer residents free Koala feed trees for their property to plant a small clump if they can spare a corner of their block. Our Council nursery has grown these trees particularly for Glenorie residents.

Council does not want to plant these trees adjacent to roads & hoping residents will plant these trees on their property.

Residents can contact me via email: Donna Fitton [email protected] to request trees. It is a great time to plant now we have had rain and it is still warm.
