For residents in the 2159 postcode, relying solely on emergency service travel times isn’t always enough. That’s why the Community Defib Project has spent the last five years quietly building a safety net across Arcadia and Galston.
By installing 11 publicly accessible AEDs across the area, the initiative has ensured that vital, 24/7 lifesaving technology is never more than a few minutes away. Now, the project is entering its next phase—and looking for everyday locals to step up.
The project team is calling for Expressions of Interest from residents willing to join the local support network. Volunteers don’t need healthcare experience; they just need a desire to contribute to local safety and help maintain this vital network.
