Australian Plants Society North Shore Group

The monthly meeting of the Australian Plants Society-North Shore Group will be held in the Willow Park Community Hall, 25 Edgeworth David Avenue, Hornsby at 7:45 pm on Friday, November 8th.

The guest speaker will be Robin Buchanan. Her topic is “Restoring Natural Areas.” Visitors welcome.

Bush regenerators; Just weeders or ecosystem managers? A look at the importance of bushcare for the management of urban bushland.

Robin Buchanan has written two books on bush regeneration; Bush Regeneration, Recovering Australian Landscapes and Restoring Natural Areas in Australia. She taught bush regeneration as well as conservation and land management at Ryde TAFE for over 20 years. She is a local resident and a passionate advocate for our local bushland.

The Monday Walks and Talks at Ku-Ring-Gai Wildflower Garden, 420 Mona Vale Road, St Ives on November 4th will feature ‘Grasses”. Be guided by members of the Australian Plants Society and friends in an easy walk to look at grasses discussed in the talk. Meet at Caley’s Pavilion at 9-45 am, wear suitable shoes and hat, bring water. All welcome. Cost $5, covers notes.
