News from Galston Early Learning Centre

“The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge, but imagination!” Albert Einstein

This quote just amplifies the importance of using our imagination through everyday life. At Galston Early Learning Centre we encourage children to extend their life-long learning through connecting and exploring the world that they live in. Through sharing these experiences with each other, the children are broadening their understanding of one another, which in turn encourages our children to open their minds to different perspectives.

Over the past month we had many children who came in to share their own magical story of exploring the fairy garden at Glenorie. This interest sparked an idea, which led to the children wanting to set up their very own fairy garden in our preschool environment!

The children worked together to collaborate their ideas and opinions on how they believe the fairy garden should look like. Through researching fair gardens using a variety of books, the internet and using photos from Glenorie, the children came up with two magical learning spaces for both our indoor and outdoor areas.

We would like to say a big thank you to our children and their families for sharing their experiences with us and we hope that the children’s voices continue to drive our educational program throughout the year.

If you have any further questions in regards to our centre please feel free to contact the Centre Director Daniela Balmer on 9653 1475.
