Arcadia Rural Fire Brigade – Escaped Pile Burn

Earlier in the week Arcadia was called to an escaped pile burn. It was quickly extinguished by crews, but it illustrated that despite the months of soaking rain we experienced, and even though we still had plasticine textured ground to walk on, the surrounding bushland was drying out.

Whilst Fire Brigade is unenthusiastically welcoming this rain it is a good opportunity to remind the community how quickly the surrounding vegetation can dry out and we should always be on top of our property maintenance and reviewing bush fire plans.

So whilst the rain may stop us from getting our mowers and slashers out, They can look for opportunities where they can move debris, rake up those fallen pine needles, or service your portable pumps before it dries out again and the bush fire danger period is upon us.

Prepared and ready communities are resilient.
