Arcadia Public School’s “Open Day with a Difference”

At Arcadia Public School, we think differently. What better way to meet the students and teachers and experience our amazingly beautiful school grounds, than to attend our Agricultural Day? Pre-schoolers, parents, siblings and Arcadia school students were invited to attend our third Agricultural Day on Friday 25th May. The Royal Agricultural Society ran four fantastic activities on the day including; grain grinding, sheep drenching, shop to table and chook washing. That’s correct – washing and blow drying a chicken! You could hear squeals of delight coming from everywhere with so much excitement on the day. One student mentioned to a teacher “This is going to be the best day of my life!” A brilliant day was had by all and a huge thankyou to the RAS for their expertise on the day, for bringing their fantastic resources and teaching us about farming, produce and animals. Thank you also to the Cape family for their ongoing support in the organisation of the day. We also loved having Daniela Balmer and Galston Early Learning Centre attend on the day. Thank you for sharing this fun day with us. We will host an Open Day on Wednesday August 1 at 10am. Come along to find out more about our wonderful school where great things happen every day. Our Yr 6 team recently enjoyed a great debate at Galston Public School. The topic was “We Should Take Technology Free Days Each Week” and Arcadia was arguing against the topic. The debate was engaging and enjoyed by the Year 5 and Year 6 audience. Well done Arcadia PS debating team!

Friends, family, delicious food and a great movie all made for a fabulous night out on June 16 when the Arcadia PS community gathered for a fun-filled night. Thank you very much to the sponsors who supported the evening and especially to the Galston Branch of Bendigo Bank whose generous funding makes such a difference to our school and the wider community. We are very grateful to the Galston Branch of Bendigo Bank as they respond to the needs of their community and work with us in achieving our goals.
